Wigginton is proud of its history and has grown to become a leading name in the industry. Trading today as a Principal Contractor that provides a range of Electrical, Mechanical, Fire Protection, Safety and Building Services in a variety of Sectors.

We believe in a trained and dedicated workforce delivering a quality service; efficiently, safely and respectfully.

Although we continue to grow as a company, we have not and will not lose the ‘small company values’ we live by.

In a world where the only constant is change, we plan to stay at the forefront of our industry and continue to deliver services successfully and reliably.


2020

COVID PANDEMIC - Essential Works (including fire safety works) continue in many boroughs across London and Greater London with extra precautions, policies and training in place.

2017

Wigginton celebrated over 50 years registration with NICEIC, providing certified works as a trustworthy and reliable Contractor.


2013

Partnerships with Emergency Services and Healthcare Institutions in London and around Greater London begin. Mechanical aspects of works increase alongside Electrical.

The business remains true to its roots, still carrying out a lot of work with Local Authorities and Housing Associations to provide electrical upgrades to people’s homes.

2006

Wigginton’s client base expands to include more multi-year frameworks with Councils,  Local Authorities and Housing Associations in London, Greater London and surrounding areas.

At this time, company services included: electrical & mechanical installation, upgrades, testing and commissioning.


2004

Expansion of electrical upgrade works to Social Housing Stock of local councils.

Wigginton also continued to work on station refurbishments, lighting upgrades and new escalators for London Underground.


2003

In the early years of the millennium, Wigginton’s size and the scope of projects markedly increased to include commercial as well as residential schemes.


2001

Company Offices moved from Neasden to current, freehold premises in Greenford. This is now Wigginton House.

It was after this purchase that WG Wigginton Group Limited was incorporated.


2000

At the turn of the millennium, Wigginton, under the leadership of Paul Keyland, identified the importance of works in occupied premises for local authorities and social housing.

1998

Since the change of ownership, the company maintained steady growth, offering a wider spectrum of general engineering services, while still providing the high standard of personal service that came with the Wigginton name and its client base.


1997

Paul Keyland (who started as an apprentice in the late 1970s) acquired the company.

In his mid-30s, this was quite the achievement. Paul took over from the second generation of the Wigginton Family, at Mr Wigginton’s retirement.


1990
to 1993

After a long period of organic growth, the company diversified to provide specialist  electrical services (including planned preventative maintenance, repairs and upgrades) to the Rail Network and London Underground.

1982

(P Keyland, our Managing Director, who was an Apprentice at the time) won the ECA Edmundson Regional Apprentice of the Year Award, 1982. 

1965

Operation of the company was inherited by the next generation of the Wigginton Family.

Works predominantly focusing on providing electrical services and maintenance to schools, public buildings and local authority housing. Around London and greater London.

1957

WG Wigginton became one of the first contractors to be NICEIC accredited. (NICEIC was only established a year earlier, 1956)

In this period the company focused operations on local government works, working on both new build and maintenance projects in and around Greater London.


1954

WG Wigginton incorporated as a limited company, with offices set up in Neasden, West London.


1951

WG Wigginton became a member of the Electrical Contractors Association (ECA)

In these early years the company provided labour-only services on larger electrical works around West London.

1939
to 1945

The genuine family-run business survived WW2, and again, helped to rebuild the local community.

1926

WG Wigginton Ltd established by the Wigginton Family.

After WW1, an increasing demand for electrical trade professionals and contractors led to the creation of the company in West London.
